The villa wedding sound checklist (and what it costs)
Twenty seasons of Ibiza weddings, condensed into one checklist. Print it, send it to your planner, or just steal it. This is everything sound-related that decides whether the day feels effortless.
The ceremony
- A lapel or headset microphone for the officiant, never a handheld on a stand fighting the wind
- A second microphone ready for readings and vows
- Music cued for the entrance, the signing and the exit, with a named person responsible for pressing play
- A small, discreet speaker pair, the ceremony should not look like a concert
Speeches and dinner
- A wireless handheld that actually works at the distance of your longest table
- Background music zoned so conversation stays easy, dinner music is felt, not heard
- A spare microphone. Speeches are the one moment you cannot redo
The dancefloor
- Real subs, a first dance deserves better than laptop speakers
- The booth the DJ asked for. DJs play better on gear they trust, ask them for their rider early
- Light on the floor, not in the guests’ eyes
The boring things that save the day
- Power: know where the board is, and whether the venue needs a generator. Villas on Ibiza often do for full productions
- A noise plan: agree the curfew and the bass policy with the villa owner in writing before the day
- Weather: a rain-safe position for every piece of electronics, decided in advance, not at midnight
- A timeline that includes the soundcheck, one hour before guests, not during arrival drinks
- One phone number for the person running sound on the day. Ours is usually the answer
What does wedding sound cost on Ibiza?
Honest ranges from our own price list. A ceremony package with microphones and discreet speakers starts around 250 euro. A full wedding day, ceremony plus dinner zones plus a real dancefloor with subs and a DJ booth, typically lands between 700 and 1,500 euro depending on guest count and venue. An engineer staying through the day is extra and is the best money in the whole budget. Every component price is public on soundandlights.eu.
